New accreditation strengthens opportunities for ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ business students
Business Management students at ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ (³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ), Edinburgh are gaining new opportunities to build industry connections and develop their professional skills through accreditation from the Association for Project Management (APM).
³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ’s Project Management module has been awarded Academic Accreditation by the APM, giving students access to free membership throughout their studies, as well as industry resources, events and networking opportunities.
The module is delivered across five of ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ's undergraduate Business Management courses:
- BA (Hons) Business Management
- BA (Hons) Business Management with Analytics
- BA (Hons) Business Management with Digital Marketing
- BA (Hons) Business Management with Finance
- BA (Hons) Business Management with Human Resource Management
For ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ students, the accreditation provides an opportunity to gain recognised project management knowledge as part of their degree and build connections with the wider project management profession.
Students studying the accredited module can benefit from free APM student membership for the duration of their course, providing access to a range of professional resources and opportunities. These include APM’s online community, digital publications and book downloads, Project Journal, conferences and events, and tools to support continuing professional development.
Student members also have the additional benefit of joining the APM Scotland Network which hosts regular events throughout the year, most of which are free. The network offers the chance to connect with project professionals and learn about the latest developments in project management.
Project management skills are valuable across a wide range of industries and roles, so having our Project Management module recognised by the APM provides an important additional benefit for our students. The accreditation recognises the alignment of our teaching with professional standards and gives students the opportunity to engage with the profession while they are still studying. Access to APM membership, resources and professional development opportunities will help students build relevant skills alongside their degree and graduate career-ready, whether they choose to pursue a career in project management or apply these skills in another professional role.
Following graduation, alumni of an accredited module may also be able to use their accredited study towards Full Membership of APM (MAPM), subject to any applicable validity requirements.
The accreditation is awarded on a three-year cycle, with annual reporting requirements and reassessment thereafter.
